Love is a wonderful but confronting experience

The call to love is a wonderful but confronting experience.

The call to love is a wonderful but confronting experience

At first there is an instinctive attraction to each other. You are just following your heart and you feel as if you’re walking on a cloud. Then, as you get to know each other, you see some flaws in the one you profess to love. And a few cracks begin to appear.

There are two voices now giving you instruction. One is Ego. The other is Love.

Ego would have you manipulate the relationship, take control of the other person and try to have them see their flaws.

Love will take the opposite approach and, instead, gently call YOU to surrender.

If you listen to your heart and the still-small-voice within, and stand in the light long enough, you will come to realize that you are only looking in a mirror – and that what you see is just your own unresolved issues staring back at you. And that’s your moment of truth! For some, it will be like experiencing a death of sorts – and rather than deal with what has been revealed, the temptation will be to step back into the familiarity of the shadows, or to run.

But it’s in taking courage and the letting go of your desire to get what you want where the prize lies. That’s where the joy of giving takes over from the satisfaction of receiving. That’s where the river of love is at its deepest. That’s where the divine meets you as you travel beyond the physical realm only and engage also with the spiritual realm to taste unconditional love.

But you have to be really serious about loving someone with all your heart and soul because it also the path to discovering yourself.
