1) Change your thoughts:
“Progress is impossible without change, and those who cannot change their minds cannot change anything.” – George Bernard Shaw
If you need a change in your life you must start by changing your thoughts. Yes! Your thoughts are like a power house that’s responsible for almost everything that happens in the physical. No matter the circumstances you might find yourself in, always be positive while waiting for the light at the end of the tunnel.
2) Don’t cry over your mistakes:
“As long as you feel pain, you’re still alive. As long as you make mistakes, you’re still human. And as long as you keep trying, there’s still hope.” – Susan Gale
Mistakes are part of life. You aren’t the only one that has made a mistake and none of your mistakes is new. Someone somewhere might have made same mistake and was still able to live happily ever after. So why should you torture your spirit because of past mistakes? Get up! Be happy for you are alive. Go out there with the lessons learnt from the mistakes and teach others to avoid it.
3) There is always a solution:
“A pessimist sees the difficulty in every opportunity; an optimist sees the opportunity in every difficulty. – Winston Churchill
Over the years I have realized that there is no problem without a solution. Sometimes, the solution might come in a way different from what you desired but what matters is that at the end of the day, the pain would be completely gone.
Talking about finding solutions to every of our problems, most time, only the patient and dogged ones find the keys to unlock every closed door. The weak ones complain, cry and give up even before the end of the battle.
4) Forgive! You need it more than the offender:
“I can have peace of mind only when I forgive rather than judge” – Gerald Jampolsky
Unforgiveness leaves you bound and stagnant but forgiveness sets you free. Unforgiveness leaves you in anxiety and depression but forgiveness gives you peace of mind. You have just one life to live and you should enjoy it by letting go of everyone and everything that can steal your joy.
5) Always be happy:
“Success, in life, is most easily measured by the number of days you are truly happy. – Eric Edmeades
Someone living in a poor cottage with no access to steady electricity, good food nor shelter could be more successful than someone whose net worth is over a million dollars. How is that possible?
If a poor man is able to live a happy and free life then he could be considered more successful than a rich man who lives daily in fear, frustration, worry and anxiety. Why? The poor man has got that one expensive gift which money cannot buy.
Research shows that rich people are more prone to suicide than poor people. Why is it so? They seek for happiness in the wrong places. Happiness is a choice open to everyone. To be truly happy you must learn to always be appreciative of every little or big thing life offers to you and see the brighter side of every negative situation life puts you through.
6) Try again:
Did you submit an application which was rejected? I know your fifth relationship just ended despite all the effort you had put to make it work. Just try again. Every new step takes you closer to your desired destination.
Good and bad times are phases in life. Although, for some people their bad times seem to last longer. That’s one of the things we can’t control in life. We are expected to accept and endure it while it lasts. In as much as you cannot prevent the occurrence of bad things, you can actually control your reaction to every bad or challenging situation you find yourself in.
Don’t let the bad moments take away your peace of mind. Always be grateful, happy and hopeful. Your better days are nearer than you could imagine.
